CARE/HANDLING: Even though the molds are made with platinum silicone rubber, it is also important that the molds are maintained and used in accordance to ensure maximum usage. Here are some tips: -Avoid touching the surface with your hands especially to remove lint, hair, small particles, dried resin etc, instead use a small piece of tape to remove anything on the mold surface. -If you wish to clean the mold, use some soapy water to clean the molds and ensure the soapy water-drops are washed away with clean water. If not cleaned, it will left water stains on the mold, this will then transfer to your next cast. -While some shapes might require more effort to demold, it is always recommended to use a tad bit of soapy water to demold. This will make demolding a breeze, quick and easy. Not only that, but this will also requires minimal effort and pressure on your hands and also the mold. Pro Tip: always keep a soapy water mixture handy in a bottle nearby. Washing away the soapy water immediately after with clean water is always recommended to avoid water stains. - Ease Release: to ensure your molds are prepped accordingly for longer usage and easy demolding, you can also use a release agent. While this is not always needed it does an excellent job in ensuring your molds last longer. As silicone molds works for us and goes through many exothermic heating process as the resin cures, this lessen the release agent and sometimes the shininess fades over time. Given, this is not just applicable to our molds, but generally all silicone molds: handmade molds, mass produced molds, platinum silicone molds etc. A quick example will be, when the silicone mold starts to change it's color, that is: gets lighter in color, shininess fades and clear/translucent molds turns opaque or somewhat white. - Casting When casting resin, it is always important to follow the resin manufacturer instructions, especially the depth recommended to be casted for each pour. Casting more than the manufacturer instruction can result in: -Your flowers burning -Flowers changing colors dramatically -Immediate flash cures with all the entrapped bubbles -Resin fusing with the mold, hence damaging the mold Bubbles Removals: Please do not use a torch to pop bubbles while the resin is in the mold. The torch produces a high level heat which is higher than 250 degrees, that might cause over heating and further causing the resin to fuse with the mold. We will not be responsible for misuse of the molds resulting in damages. Safety Precautions: Resin in general can be toxic, please abide with safety measures and work in a safe and ventilated area away from kids and pets, along with PPE.
